About Fort Lauderdale

Ah, Broward County and Miami-Dade County, two vibrant regions nestled along the southeastern coast of Florida, where history unfolds like a mesmerizing documentary.

In the late 19th century, as Florida's wilderness beckoned, pioneers began settling in what is now Broward County, named after Napoleon Bonaparte Broward, a former governor. It was a challenging endeavor, battling mosquitoes and swamps to drain the land for agriculture. The arrival of the Florida East Coast Railway in the early 20th century transformed the region, leading to the establishment of cities like Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood.

 

Meanwhile, to the south, Miami-Dade County was a hub for the Tequesta and Seminole tribes before European exploration. In the late 1800s, Miami was founded, and Henry Flagler's railroad connected it to the rest of Florida. The 20th century brought a booming tourism industry and a population surge, transforming Miami into a global cultural and financial center.

 

These counties are a testament to human perseverance and adaptation in the face of nature's challenges, evolving into bustling, diverse communities that define the modern Florida Lifestyle.
